“Write your own script.”
“Some of our most formative years were spent at Kent Place, and those years gave Michelle and me a foundation that we still draw on daily. Our teachers, friends, and experiences instilled in us a sense of confidence that has enabled us to take risks, try new things, and, ultimately, write our own script.

“Perhaps we’ve always had a spirit with lots of grit and spunk, but that spirit led us down the path of doing our own thing. From leading fundraisers such as the eight-grade Pancake Breakfast, to starring in a KPS play, to editing the school newspaper, we were taught no matter what we were doing that we should challenge ourselves, explore varied interests no matter how seemingly disparate, and build ourselves as individuals. The support of our teachers gave us the courage even at a young age to push forward through fear and discomfort so that we could accomplish the amazing.

“As adults looking to build our own future, we once again channeled our Kent Place confidence, pushed aside the doubt, and took the leap to start our own organizing business. As English and economics majors in college who then worked in many varied fields — publishing, public relations, finance, and recruiting — our corporate careers were intricate and meandering, but when we came together, we found we had unique strengths and beautifully complementary skill sets.

“Kent Place taught us that we don’t have to follow only one path or one interest. What makes us great are the varied parts of ourselves, and that gives us the courage to build a future on our terms.”
