“Don’t be afraid to reach for all of your goals, no matter how diverse they seem to be.”
“I learned this at Kent Place, where my desire to pursue a degree in both the sciences and the arts was supported. I was involved in theatrical productions, a member of Dance Troupe, and on the Biology Team, and I loved my Spanish classes.
“It’s not surprising, therefore, that in college I wanted to be both premed and a Spanish major. Because of what I learned at Kent Place, I got through the science classes fairly easily, and as I was ahead of the game, I was able to spend a semester studying in Oviedo, Spain. I also performed with my college dance company.
“Kent Place fostered both my leadership skills and my interest in giving back to the community. I became chief resident during my medical training, and now I’m a partner in and director of a private sports medicine practice, in which I also get to treat dancers. As for giving back, I’ve spent countless hours at mobile medical clinics in Haiti and in rural West Africa, the results of which have been profoundly rewarding.
“At KPS, I was a shy kid, but that didn’t stop me from thinking I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. The encouragement I received while I was a student there had a huge impact on my future.”
