STEM at Kent Place

Kent Place is committed to providing opportunities to broaden and deepen participation in STEM by offering diverse, meaningful, challenging, and joyful curricular and co-curricular activities. In all three divisions, Kent Place girls experience science, computer programming, engineering and mathematics in their classes, clubs, committees, and independent studies. From engineering mazes for Bee-Bots in Kindergarten to designing experiments in AP Physics, students are involved in hands-on, real-world STEM learning. All students are eligible to participate in curricular and co-curricular activities.

The combination of activities carve a customized pathway into, around, and through STEM at Kent Place. As they travel along their pathways, students develop essential competencies for the 21st century — the ability to question, collaborate, think critically, problem solve and communicate — and are encouraged to explore STEM career choices. STEM pathways at Kent Place cultivate collaborations across academic disciplines, enhance learning and teaching, advance equity and excellence, ignite curiosity, unleash creativity, and encourage learning through play.
The mission of the STEM Program at Kent Place School is to empower and inspire girls by igniting their curiosity, fostering their interests and enhancing their proficiency in the natural sciences, computer programming, engineering, and mathematics.
