About Ethical Leadership & Entrepreneurship
Ethical Leadership & Entrepreneurship is a coed summer program for students entering grades 10-12. This innovative hands-on learning opportunity affords students the opportunity to develop the skills fundamental for achieving positive business practices and outcomes through ethical leadership. Students who enroll concurrently discover elements of business planning and explore central ethical concepts relating to core business practices. Concepts include valuating economic, social and environmental dimensions of success; integrity in financial accounting; and maintaining an ethical business culture. Participants explore how these concepts inform an effective business plan, including business objectives, strategy, branding, management and financial plans, operations and market analysis. In addition to learning about ethical leadership from Ethics Institute scholars and faculty, participants engage with renowned business leaders and corporate CEOs. The culminating "Shark Tank" activity has teams of aspiring entrepreneurial participants make business presentations to a panel of investors, who then choose whether or not to invest in their product. Program includes 2 day trips (Google and Celgene).
