  • Director of Alumnae Engagement and Special Gifts

    Kent Place School seeks a dynamic, highly organized and forward thinking leader to serve as Director of Alumnae Engagement and Special Gifts. The Director is responsible for designing and executing a strategic vision of meaningful engagement and fundraising within a broad multi-generational alumnae community. This position requires an eagerness and ability to interact with alumnae, strong organizational skills, attention to detail and creative thinking. Candidate should demonstrate an ability to work both independently and as a team member, prioritize work and meeting deadlines while managing multiple tasks and maintaining a positive attitude in a demanding, fast-paced environment. 

    Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle confidential material and situations with discretion and sensitivity. A willingness to work outside of normal business hours is essential as peak periods and special events necessitate evening and weekend hours. A sense of humor is a must, as is the desire to build relationships with large groups of people. An appreciation for and an understanding of independent school culture is strongly desired.
    Key responsibilities include the following:
    • To facilitate, in a wide variety of ways, communication with all alumnae, including phone calls, personal touches, print and e-communications, programs and events.  
    • To coordinate and organize receptions and reunions and other special events at the school and throughout the country including Reunion Weekend, networking receptions, regional gatherings, etc.
    • To seek to increase our knowledge of alumnae through ongoing gathering and reporting of information, gleaned from interpersonal interactions as well as systematic processes.
    • Ensure that alumnae records are current; oversee integrity and utilization of system in an efficient and effective manner.
    • Manage a portfolio of alumnae special gift prospects capable of making five and six-figure gifts and identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects.
    • To perform other duties as assigned by the director of advancement.
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 5 years of relevant experience; non-profit experience is strongly preferred
    • A demonstrated desire and ability to create personalized and thoughtful engagement strategies.
    • Superior written and verbal skills; accuracy in written work is critical.
    • Experience in and commitment to developing one’s own cultural competency.
    • Proficiency in various computer applications including word processing and database management using Microsoft Office; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is desirable.

  • Director of Health Services

    Kent Place School seeks a Director of Health Services to provide leadership and oversight of the health office operations and serve as a health and wellness resource to the school community. Responsibilities include managing daily health office operations, promoting student health, ensuring compliance with State regulations and school policies and procedures, providing health guidance and cultivating health and wellness initiatives within the community. The Director of Health Services also fulfills the duties and responsibilities of a school nurse. This is a full-time, 12-month position. Candidates should possess  knowledge of school age and adolescent child growth and development, current health issues and wellness education; working knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations affecting school health services; strong technology skills and familiarity with Google suite and online health record systems. Requirements: a college degree, current NJ State Registered Professional Nursing License, and a minimum 5-years experience as a Registered Nurse; experience as a school nurse preferred.
