Woodloch 2024: The Class of 2030 Reflects
At the beginning of every academic year, Middle School students — that is, sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders — and their advisors pack their bags for the highly anticipated overnight adventure to Woodloch Pines, in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The resort offers the perfect combination of nature, adventure, and friendly competition — not to mention treats by the fire!
This year, upon their return, we asked the Class of 2030 to reflect on their second trip to Woodloch and their favorite moments, and students bubbled with enthusiasm. Many of them talked about bonding; an equal number mentioned the s’mores!
Says Emily Loeb, “I really enjoyed watching the sun go down, making s’mores, and spending time with friends, both old and new.”
Ashley Suwankosai, too, found her favorite moment to be the cozy night by the fire. “I loved the nighttime activities and making s’mores together.”
“Staying overnight and bonding with my roommates was my favorite part about Woodloch,” says Chloe Zhang.
Katie Hu particularly enjoyed the connections: “I loved staying up late with my bunkmates, playing card games, and dancing together,” she says.
Fionna Dangler and Abbie Slattery appreciated spending time with their Advisory groups during breakfast and dinner.
Says Kairady Johnson, “I bonded with my classmates a lot over this trip. I became closer with old friends and made new ones. Woodloch is an experience to remember. I can’t wait for next year!”
