Roberta Green Puschel ’61 and Philip Puschel Make Kent Place History with $2 Million Endowment Commitment

Kent Place School is pleased to announce that, in celebration of Roberta Green Puschel’s 65th class reunion, Roberta ’61 and her husband, Philip Puschel, have made a $2 million commitment to establish The Philip and Roberta Green Puschel ’61 Fund within the School’s endowment. One of the largest alumna commitments in Kent Place history — and the largest endowment commitment from a living alumna — their gift will significantly strengthen the School’s long-term financial foundation.

Roberta’s relationship with Kent Place spans more than seven decades. A loyal donor for more than 40 years, she is a member of the Oak Leaf Society, which honors donors who have given to Kent Place for five or more years, and the Heritage Society, which honors donors who have made thoughtful plans to leave KPS in their bequest or estate plans. She has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees and a Kent Place Fund Class Agent.

It was her recent class reunion, however, that inspired her most significant gift yet. “My 65th reunion gave me an opportunity to reflect on what Kent Place has meant to me and how Philip and I might help support its future,” says Roberta. “This commitment is our way of expressing our gratitude and investing in what the School can continue to make possible for its students.”

The Puschels structured their commitment to begin supporting Kent Place during their lifetimes with additional support included in Roberta’s estate plan. Annual distributions from their unrestricted endowed fund will give school leaders the flexibility to direct resources where they can have the greatest impact. 

Roberta and Philip hope to inspire the Kent Place community to follow in their footsteps. “We hope others will consider how they, too, might support Kent Place through a gift to the endowment now, through their estate plans, or through a combination of both.”
