KPS Students Participate in Novartis Multicultural Teen Corporate Mentoring Program

On October 15–16, 41 Kent Place students from grades eight through 12 took part in the Novartis Multicultural Teen Corporate Mentoring Program. The program, which is in its 25th year, provides invaluable guidance and exposure to an array of career options in the corporate sector.

Students heard from inspiring guest speakers, enjoyed mentoring time with Novartis associates, took tours of the Novartis campus, and listened to a panel discussion with program alumni.

“I was very interested in the words of Victor Bultó [president, Novartis US], who explained the purpose, function, and inner workings of the company,” says Priyana Manglani ’27. “The program provided me with an enriching experience and information that I’ll utilize in my future.”

The program offered hands-on experience as well. Students worked collaboratively with students from other schools and were challenged to develop a plan that addresses health disparities in the United States through sustainable solutions. Groups presented their solutions at the culmination of the event.

"I found the program extremely rewarding,” says Richa Malpani ’29. “The experience enhanced my understanding of the medical field and advanced my public-speaking skills significantly.”

“I was able to improve my public-speaking skills and thinking on the spot, widened my horizons on different career paths, and also forged connections,” says Ana Monteiro ’27. “The program was a ten out of ten!”
