Kent Place Wins International Marketing Awards

Kent Place Wins International Marketing Awards

Kent Place is delighted to announce that it has earned two Gold 2024 InspirED School Marketers Brilliance Awards — one for Magazine Writing, for three features in the winter/spring 2024 and fall 2024 issues of Kent Place magazine, and one for the school’s Admission Viewbook.

The entries were evaluated by a volunteer panel of 72 experts from across the globe, all of whom are professionals in private schools or businesses who focus on private school marketing. The entries were assessed on originality, persuasiveness, copy/script/dialogue, visual elements, execution, and overall appeal.

Kent Place magazine won gold for “The Kent Place Start-Up Guide” and “Wider Perspectives,” from the winter/spring 2024 issue, and “Choices and Voices,” from fall 2024’s issue.

“The ninth-grade story was a compelling read hiding in plain sight. Bringing truly fresh eyes to Upper School orientation paid great dividends,” the judges said. “And the Alyssa Hwang ’16 profile shows how a gifted writer can make even complex technology easy to understand. These pieces showcase the school’s attention to and demonstrated success in student development writ large. The writing is strong and compact. The format of the CHP piece highlights student voices and engages the reader by demanding a different kind of attention and recognition, thereby of the many ways the project affects very different kinds of students.”

Rachel Naggar P ’25, Director of Communications is the magazine’s editor; 2Communiqué provided creative direction and design; and writers Erin Peterson (“The Kent Place Start-Up Guide”) and Laura J. Cole (“Wider Perspectives” and “Choices and Voices”) brought the stories to life.

Kent Place also won gold in the Printed Viewbook category. “16 Words That Can Change the World: A Guide for Brave and Brilliant Girls in 16 Words and 14 Lists” is the school’s newest Admission publication. “What an ingenious use of user-generated content,” said the judges. “Using listicles and current students to frame the narrative for this piece is brilliant. Kent Place has also done a remarkable job reinforcing its visual and narrative identities here, which is one of the many benefits of having a clear, well-articulated brand. This viewbook is original. It is centered on the mission statement.”

Kudos to both the Admission and Communications Offices for overseeing the creation of the Viewbook. Generation provided creative direction and design.

“Our success in earning these awards highlights the creativity of our team and collaborators, as well as the inspiring stories within the Kent Place community,” says Ms. Naggar. “Each piece — whether a magazine article or an admission viewbook — demonstrates our dedication to showcasing student growth, sharing diverse perspectives, and highlighting the impact of a Kent Place education.”

The Brilliance Awards are sponsored by InspirED School Marketers, a community that provides what it terms “ideas and brain food” for private school administrators worldwide. This is the only international competition that recognizes excellence in private and independent school marketing and communications.
