Kent Place Middle School Presents Alice in Wonderland

Seventh- and eighth-grade theater students are thrilled to be presenting their highly anticipated spring play, Alice in Wonderland, on Thursday, April 23, at 4:00 p.m. and Friday, April 24, at 7:00 p.m. The performances will take place in Atwood Hall, inside Kent Place’s Center for Innovation. In this head-spinning show, you’ll tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice and land in a wonderfully wacky world of rhymes and ridiculousness, checkerboards and cheeky cats, the Mad Hatter and mayhem. Alice chases the White Rabbit through the audience, attends the most absurd tea party in history, and faces off with the ragingly red Queen of Hearts — what could possibly go wrong? Curiouser and curiouser . . .

Says Sadie Sfarra ’30, “From the Mad Hatter to the Cheshire Cat, the audience will be amazed by the show we put on and each actor’s abilities. I’m excited to portray the Queen of Hearts in the trial scene, which features the entire cast and demonstrates what it’s like to work as a team on stage. I would say it’s the most lively scene in the play and so much fun to watch!”

The production is directed by Cara Scarmack, Primary and Middle School theater teacher; Whitney Jacobs, Primary School dance teacher, has choreographed the production.

Working behind the scenes is stage manager Fionna Dangler ’30, and Ava Shinn ’30 designed the logo.

Props were designed and built by students from Caitlyn Roper’s Behind the Scenes Middle School elective.
