Kent Place Field Hockey Captures NJISAA Prep A Championship

Kent Place Field Hockey Captures NJISAA Prep A Championship

Kent Place Varsity Field Hockey has recaptured the title of NJISAA Prep A Champion with an exciting 3-0 win against Lawrenceville on Tuesday, November 5. The stands were packed with fans waving green and gold pom-poms, and the sun was shining bright on an unseasonably warm day as the Dragons dominated the Bulldogs on Pat Conley Field.

The road to the championship was hard-earned, with an impressive 2-1 win against the top-seeded opponent in the semifinal game.

“I couldn't be more proud of this team and the determination they’ve shown all season,” says Head Coach Kerrie Burns. “Winning preps was a huge boost not only for our program but also for Kent Place as a whole. My goal as a coach is for field hockey to be one of the top programs in the state, and we’re on the right track.”

Among the highlights from the championship game were the shutout from senior goalie Ella Levy and goals by Erin Kim ’27, Aurielle Wolf ’25, and Molly Brozowski ’26.

“Winning preps was a really great moment for the team. It was so much fun. I’m proud of how far we’ve come,” says Aurielle, who is a captain this year.

Says Coach Burns: “I’m especially happy for our seniors. This is only the second time Kent Place has won the award. The last time was in 2021, when our seniors were freshmen, so it’s a full-circle moment. We have a great family here at Kent Place, with huge support from Head of School Dr. Galambos and Athletic Director Vicky Browne.”

You can catch the Dragons on Thursday, November 7, at 1:45 p.m. as they compete against Mount St. Mary’s at home, on Pat Conley Field, in the state tournament. A win will bring them to the semifinal match.
