Kent Place Community Gathers for Jewish Cultural Night
On Monday, April 28, more than 200 members of the Kent Place community came together to celebrate Jewish Cultural Night, hosted in the Great Room by the Diversity and Equity Parent Group (DEPG).
Attendees of all ages enjoyed interactive stations, among them returning favorites such as challah braiding, tikkun olam (repair the world) sandwich-making for those in need, arts and crafts, educational posters, a curated community cookbook, and an array of delicious traditional food. A DJ added to the festive atmosphere. The event included a table with book recommendations, a raffle, and a discovery table full of objects that hold cultural and religious significance within the Jewish community.
Committee Chair Jaime Levine warmly welcomed guests, followed by remarks from Head of School Jennifer Galambos, and a charming performance by the Hummingbirds. Jewish student and faculty groups also helped build excitement ahead of the event and made announcements to encourage participation.
This event was made possible by the hard work and dedication of the planning committee: Jaime Levine (Chair), Rachel Naggar P ’25 (staff), Trish Grushkin P ’23 ’25, Jeanne Gordon P ’25, Jill Wehler P ’29 ’31, Stephanie Brinker P ’27, Lisa Cohen (faculty), Jenna Forman P ’34, Ashley Avigdor P ’29, Natalie Reichman P ’30, Jess Glatt P ’28, Stacy Krieger P ’28, Alana Dambrot P ’24 ’26 ’30, Nataliya Dragoman P ’36, Farah Goldstein P ’28, Lindsay Mader ’03 P ’31, Aimee Singer ’88 P ’25 (staff), Ian Singer P ’25, Leslie Flax P ’33, Casey Cohen P ’29, Stephanie Wilson P ’32 ’35, and Rachel Rosenthal P ’36.
