A Record Week: Lacrosse Captures Prep A Championship and Head Coach Wins 100th Game

On Tuesday, May 12, Kent Place Varsity Lacrosse captured its first NJISAA Prep A championship in 32 years. The Dragons played at home against Lawrenceville and came out on top after a hard-fought game. Molly Brozowski ’26, Cate Collins ’28, and Caitlyn Quinn ’26 each scored three goals, and Reagan Larson ’26 had an impressive 11 saves in goal.

“Watching the team hoist the trophy on our own turf after securing its first Prep A championship was an incredibly proud moment for Kent Place Athletics. The girls’ win is a testament to the growth of the program and the high caliber of our athletes,” says Athletic Director Vicky Browne.

That same week, on Thursday, May 14, Kent Place achieved a thrilling victory against a top-division team. This game saw an epic milestone — the 100th win for Head Coach Ashley Quinn, who joined Kent Place in 2017.

Says Varsity Assistant Coach Melissa Webber, “Ashley is relentless in her pursuit of developing not just great players, but also even better people who will go on to do great things after their time on campus.”

The Dragons have become a top-ranked team in New Jersey and regularly appear in semifinal and final games of the NJSIAA, NJISAA, and Union County tournaments. This season, Kent Place reached the UCT title game for the first time since 2008. Our teams have won their NJIGLL division for the past three years — going undefeated in the process.

The team looks to continue its success with the NJSIAA tournament, set to begin later this month.
