The Admission Office at Kent Place School
, an independent, nonsectarian, college-preparatory day school for girls and young women with a coed Preschool program, announces its late fall, early winter Admission events for prospective families. All events will be held on the 26-acre campus of Kent Place School in Summit, NJ. Please register for all admission events online at www.kentplace.org/admission/dates.
On Saturday, November 23, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. there will be an Open House for prospective families and their children interested in The Preschool at Kent Place. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to this event to explore our spaces together! The Preschool includes a Junior Pre-Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten program for boys and girls ages 3–5. Experienced and highly educated teachers; low student to teacher ratios; classes in Spanish and French; state-of-the-art facilities and resources; and a curriculum focused on exploration, creativity and developmentally appropriate rigor are the hallmark of The Preschool. Kent Place preschool children learn in an atmosphere of caring, trust, and freedom in which each child can develop a positive self-image.
Also on November 23 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, there is a Kindergarten through Grade 12 Open House for prospective families. Kent Place School offers a multi-dimensional and comprehensive educational experience combining academic rigor with a richness of activities, athletics and community endeavors. A broad range of opportunities for leadership, social development, and responsible citizenship is offered school-wide. Independent thinking and personal development are integral to the learning experience at Kent Place. On Wednesday, December 11 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. there is a Middle and Upper School Information Session. The Middle School provides a developmentally appropriate and well-rounded education that nurtures, and guides girls through their transition from childhood to adolescence, balancing their desire for increased challenge, independence, and responsibility with their need for support and structure. The Upper School’s academically rigorous college-preparatory curriculum has been designed to prepare students for the most competitive colleges and universities. Emphasis is on the development of strong writing and analytical skills within the framework of a comprehensive course of study in math, sciences, technology, and the humanities, enriched with experiences in the fine arts and athletics. On Thursday, December 12 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. there is a Primary School Information Session. The Primary School (Preschool through Grade 5) provides a challenging academic program in a caring and supportive environment, in which children feel motivated to learn, take risks, and ask questions.
On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., there is a Curriculum Panel for prospective families. The popular panel will feature Kent Place faculty, college advisors, young alumnae, and will be moderated by Julie Gentile, Kent Place Director of Studies.
Applications for the 2020–2021 school year are now being accepted, and are due by Wednesday, January 10, 2020.
