Dragons Start Season with 3-0 Shut Out

Bobbi Moran
The Dragons opened their season traveling to Mt. Saint Dominic for a 4:30 game. Every player on the roster contributed to a terrific 3-0 shut-out. The KPS Defensive Unit was on fire denying Mt Saint Dominic the opportunity to take any shots on cage. KPS Keepers Audrey Alix and Maddie O'Connor spent a leisurely game between the pipes with the ball never threatening below the 25-yard line thanks to the talented work of the KPS Defense. The Offensive and Midfield Units were in high gear as well, as the Dragons kept the ball away from the home team and safely in the opposition's end of the field throughout play. KPS opened the scoring with a beautiful cross from Haley Bigler that connected on the stick of Captain Jesse Jin for a 1-0 lead. The Dragons followed this with a nifty touch from sophomore Pilar Torres to sophomore teammate Lauren Rusas who knocked in the visitor's second tally of the day. The final blow came from the stick of Rusas once more who found teammate Jorina Goedde in the "D" to give the Dragons the 3-0 shut out to kick start their season. The team travels with JV to Montclair High School on Thursday for a 4:30pm start. Hope to see you there!
