On Tuesday, April 23 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Kent Place Commons Room, there will be an Information Session for prospective families interested in the Middle School (Grades 6-8) or Upper School (Grades 9-12). The Middle School provides a developmentally appropriate and well-rounded education that nurtures, and guides girls through their transition from childhood to adolescence, balancing their desire for increased challenge, independence, and responsibility with their need for support and structure. The Upper School’s academically rigorous college-preparatory curriculum has been designed to prepare students for the most competitive colleges and universities. Emphasis is on the development of strong writing and analytical skills within the framework of a comprehensive course of study in math, sciences, technology, and the humanities, enriched with experiences in the fine arts and athletics.
On Wednesday, April 24 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Primary School library, there will be an Information Session for prospective families interested in Preschool and Kindergarten through Grade 5. The Preschool includes a half- and full-day Junior Pre-Kindergarten and full-day Pre-Kindergarten programs for boys and girls ages 3 to 5. Experienced and highly educated teachers; extremely low student to teacher ratios; state-of-the-art facilities and resources; and a brain-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum focused on exploration and creativity are the hallmark of the Preschool. The Primary School (Kindergarten through Grade 5) provides a challenging academic program in a caring and supportive environment, in which children feel motivated to learn, take risks and ask questions.
A broad range of opportunities for leadership, social development, and responsible citizenship is offered in all three divisions at Kent Place. Independent thinking and personal development are integral to the learning experience at Kent Place.
The only non-sectarian girls' day school in New Jersey, Kent Place provides a rigorous and fulfilling education for more than 600 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. KPS also offers a coed Junior Pre-Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten program, The Preschool at Kent Place. The school’s 26-acre campus in Summit, New Jersey, draws families from more than 80 communities. Kent Place seeks brave and brilliant girls (and boys in our Preschool programs) who are eager to learn, excited to lead, and ready to take on the world. We encourage applications from students from every kind of family, neighborhood, and background, and consider previous academic effort, written recommendations, an entrance test or screening, and a personal interview when making admission decisions.
