"BLINDSPOT: HIDDEN BIASES OF GOOD PEOPLE"

Mahzarin Banaji is the Richard Clarke Cabot Professor of Social Ethics in the Department of Psychology at Harvard, Chair of the Department of Psychology and Harvard College Professor. Professor Banaji studies unconscious thinking and feeling as they unfold in social group contexts and influence decisions about people’s worth, goodness and competence. She is the author of the bestselling book Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People with Anthony Greenwald, published by Random House. This presentation is made possible through a collaboration between Kent Place School and Far Brook School, and with the generous contributions of The Ethics Institute at Kent Place, the Kent Place Diversity and Equity Parent Group and the Christ Church of Summit.

"UNTANGLED: GUIDING TEENAGE GIRLS THROUGH THE SEVEN TRANSITIONS INTO ADULTHOOD"

Lisa Damour, PhD is a psychologist, author, teacher, speaker and consultant who directs Laurel School’s Center for Research on Girls, writes a monthly Adolescence column for the New York Times’ Well Family online report, is a regular contributor at CBS News, and serves as a Senior Advisor to the Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University. Her New York Times bestselling book, Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood, was released by Random House in February 2016. Dr. Damour draws on years of clinical experience and the latest research to provide sound, practical guidance to girls as well as to their parents, teachers and advocates.
