Amanda Yoder Library

The Amanda Yoder Library serves all students and their teachers from Junior Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5. Students come to the library once a week for a scheduled class and for additional times throughout the year to complete research projects. The library subscribes to a range of online databases which provide 24/7 access to materials such as ebooks, reference works and video, including the World Book Encyclopedia and BrainPOP Jr.

The library program encourages and inspires students to read for knowledge and for pleasure. During classes, students listen to and participate in story times, learn library skills and research techniques, and check out books. The Primary School librarian works with classroom and specialist teachers to create integrated lessons that enrich and deepen the classroom curriculum.

Middle & Upper School Library

The library’s physical collection comprises 8,000 print and multimedia items. The library also subscribes to a range of online databases which provide 24/7 access to materials such as ebooks, academic journals, reference works and streaming video across all subject areas. The Middle and Upper School librarians work in both the library and the classroom, offering guidance and instruction aimed at developing information fluency.

The library provides an environment which is conducive to quiet study and reading, while providing spaces for small group work. In addition to its information resources, the library maintains collections of fiction for both Middle and Upper School students, as well as a selection of periodicals for recreational reading and browsing.
