Genius Block

A Unique Approach to pursuing a passion

Each week, Middle and Upper School students have dedicated time in their schedules, known as a Genius block. In this self-directed learning time, students discover new interests and explore hobbies to careers in a process that is supported by their faculty advisor. Seniors have the option to spend this time off campus in an internship, volunteer activity, or learning opportunity. All students are encouraged to collaborate with peers either on a project or during the process as they reflect and gather feedback from each other. The goal of Genius block is to offer students time to understand that the most durable learning is self-motivated, driven by inquiry and choice.
