The Kent place music program is dedicated to providing our young musicians with a wide range of instrumental and choral performance opportunities. Through the study of global repertoire, active engagement in performances, and general music classes, students realize their potential as both musicians and as human beings. Both the individual process and the collaborative group experiences provide an enduring understanding of concepts which enable our students to become contributing citizens in a global society. Our curriculum prepares interested students for further professional study and at the same time fosters a lifelong appreciation for music performance.
Our instrumental music program is enhanced by teaching artists who daily share their talent and enthusiasm with our students. Beginner instructional classes, which complement classroom instruction, are taught in flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, violin, viola, cello, bass, and percussion. Semi-private and private lessons are also offered for these instruments and for piano and voice.
