Amy Meislin Pollack, Class of 1970 and a children’s-book author, returned to the place where she was first inspired to write — the Kent Place Primary School. Amy visited the fourth- and fifth-grade classrooms to read from one of her books and lead writing workshops to foster creativity and explore the art of storytelling.
We're excited to share our vibrant learning community with you.
A Kent Place School education is grounded in a belief in girls’ leadership, academic scholarship, and ethical decision-making.
THE IMPORTANCE OF A SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
There are myriad opportunities and great joy in being a school for girls with a curriculum that stretches each student to expand her horizons, talented faculty who help her develop a strong understanding of herself, and an environment that promotes risk-taking and exploration. What is best for girls drives our every decision.
AN INSPIRED MISSION AND DEEP HISTORY
Kent Place's program of excellence has, since 1894, provided both a foundation and a springboard for thousands of girls and young women. Our 16-word mission statement, "Kent Place empowers girls to be confident, intellectual, and ethical leaders who advance the world," is brought to life every day on our campus.
A COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE BELONGS
In and out of the classroom, in formal and informal ways, we do the essential work of creating a safe, inclusive space for every member of our community. One result: Our graduates are able to work across cultures, honor the variety and breadth of the human experience, and have a deep understanding of equity and justice.
EMBRACING CHALLENGE & OPPORTUNITY
Our academic program meets students where they are, introduces them to new challenges and opportunities, and gives them the freedom and the inspiration to fulfill their potential. Kent Place balances tradition and modernity to support each student’s full development.
FULFILLING OUR MISSION
Empower Girls. Advance the World.
The Strategic Plan is the result of a two-year development process, drawing on the wisdom and experience of hundreds of Kent Place community members. It's grounded in research, refined through multiple rounds of revision, and inspired by the life and work of our students, our graduates, and our faculty and staff. The plan affirms four institutional priorities: learning with purpose, leading with ethics, thriving in community, and investing in one another. The results will be transformative for our students and for the world.
