Girls’ Leadership Institute
Kent Place Voices

Though not mandatory, 100 percent of our Primary, Middle and Upper School students volunteer each year to support a variety of community efforts.

Now entering its thirteenth year, the Kent Place Girls’ Leadership Institute (GLI) offers girls ages 12-14 (entering 7th and 8th grade) the opportunity to explore their leadership potential.

Summer 2008 | July 27-31

Each girl will discover and develop her own unique leadership style through a broad range of hands-on activities. Participants will enjoy the challenges of a ropes course, work closely with high school and college mentors, and meet women role models, who, as guest speakers, will share their personal and professional histories. Previous speakers have included research scientists, architects, a town mayor, a lawyer and a television executive.

The Institute, a five day, four night residential program, takes place on the beautiful 26-acre campus of Kent Place School in Summit. The Institute is designed to teach leadership skills that strengthen girls’ confidence and self-esteem. The program inspires each participant to discover her own voice and develop her own personal leadership goals.
