At Kent Place School, the arts reveal to students new ways of thinking and knowing. They hold a central part in a Kent Place education.
Kent Place offers visual arts, dance, drama and music instruction in all grades. Whether students sing or dance, play an instrument, act and direct or paint, draw and sculpt, they learn to see themselves - and their world - from a new perspective. Girls share their work publicly through concerts, recitals, exhibits and theatrical productions. They gain confidence as they express their creativity, and they discover talents and interests they might otherwise have left untapped.
The program is enhanced by professional performers and artists who visit Kent Place to share their work and their insights in presentations, panel discussions and master classes. Students also travel to New York City to visit dance studios, museums and attend performances. Kent Place students are selected for state and national choirs, have performed with dance companies in New York City and New Jersey, and they have won awards in tri-state competitions for their theatrical productions. They exhibit visual artwork in museums and galleries beyond Kent Place.
