The Campaign for Kent Place, “Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders,” is the result of a well thought-out strategic plan designed to ensure that Kent Place will remain one of the finest all-girl independent schools in the nation.
This capital/endowment campaign with a goal of $25 million is the first campaign of major proportions in the history of the school, and will serve to transform the teaching facilities of the Upper and Middle Schools. As one of our parents phrased it, “You want the facilities to mirror the excellence of the teaching.”
The Campaign for Kent Place will add 45,000 square feet of additional classroom and laboratory space, as well as an entirely new music facility. Additionally, students will enjoy a new commons area, a writing center, technology center and flexible classroom space that will easily adapt to future teaching needs. The current Upper School will be renovated to become an all new Middle School, while still retaining the charm of stained glass windows, window seats and our “creaky” staircase! We are planning for a state-of-the-art facility that feels 100 years old, which will blend with our beautiful Mabie House, the jewel of the campus. In addition to new construction, The Campaign for Kent Place will also include a commitment to an increase in endowment funds, specifically for financial aid, and faculty/staff compensation.
We are excited and encouraged by the incredibly positive response so far to this Campaign. In excess of $23 million has already been secured on our way to a goal of $25 million. Thank you to all who have already been so generous and supportive. We look forward to and will welcome the eventual participation of everyone in the Kent Place community.
