Why does Kent Place need a capital/endowment campaign?

Although we do not anticipate an increased student body, we do need increased classroom space, and state-of-the art science, math and music facilities.  At least $3 million will be added to our current endowment to ensure that sufficient financial aid remains available and to enable the school to attract and retain the finest faculty and staff.

Will I be asked to give to the Annual Fund during the Capital Campaign?

During the course of the Capital Campaign we will ask that donors continue to maintain their current giving to the Annual Fund.  The Annual Fund supports the operating budget of the school and is vital to the financial health of the institution.  Most schools find that the Annual Fund remains strong or even increases during a capital campaign.  At Kent Place, the Annual Fund has increased by over 24 percent during the past two years.

What is the dollar goal of the campaign?

To accomplish Phase I and Phase II of the long range strategic plan, the Campaign will need to raise $25 million. Phase I will include the construction of the new Upper School. Phase II will include the renovation of the main administration building into the new Middle School, and the addition of $3 million to the current endowment.

How much has been raised so far?

To date, over $23 million has been secured.

When will the Campaign be finished?

We anticipate the Campaign to end by the spring of 2009.

Who is being asked to support the Campaign?

Everyone in the entire Kent Place constituency will be asked to support the Campaign.  All gifts large and small will be gratefully received and used with care.

Can I pledge a gift to the Campaign?

Gifts may be pledged to the Campaign and paid over a five year pledge period.  All donors to the Campaign will be listed in their appropriate giving category unless they request anonymity.

When should I donate?

Solicitations to the entire constituency began in the fall of 2007.  Individual donors will continue to be contacted for leadership level gifts by members of the Campaign Steering Committee.

How can I stay informed about the Campaign?
