Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten - A Coeducational Program
Our Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten programs admit girls and boys. Both programs provide an atmosphere of trust, love, and freedom in which each child can develop social skills as well as independence. Our school values the early childhood years and builds on the natural excitement and curiosity that our children bring to their school experience. The Nursery, which is for three- and four-year-olds, meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. Pre-Kindergarten, which is for four- and five-year-olds, meets Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (including time for lunch) and Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Parents may also choose to enroll their child in the Pre-Kindergarten Extended Program on Mondays and Fridays until 2:30 p.m. There is an additional cost for this option. By September 1 of the year that a child will begin attending, a Nursery applicant must be three years old and a Pre-Kindergarten applicant must be four years old.

We do our best to select applicants who are similar in their developmental stages and their readiness for our program. After submitting your application with the $70 application fee, call the Admission Office to schedule a parent visit and the applicant’s screening date. Children visit the classroom and are observed in their play and social interactions. Applicants for Pre-Kindergarten should ask the child's current teacher to complete the Teacher Evaluation Form and submit it to the Admission Office between December 1 and February 1.

Kindergarten
Kindergarten is the beginning of the all-girls academic experience at Kent Place. An applicant for Kindergarten must be five years old by September 1 of the year that she will begin attending.

The Kindergarten Program meets daily from 8:10 a.m. until 2:40 p.m. Girls may arrive as early as 8:00 a.m. Those waiting to go home with older sisters or ride home on buses after school may stay until 3:00 p.m.

After submitting your application with the $70 application fee, call the Admission Office to schedule a parent visit and your child’s visit and screening dates. Ask your daughter’s current teacher to complete the Teacher Evaluation Form and submit it to the Admission Office between December 1 and February 1.

Grades 1 through 5
KPS also accepts applications for admission into grades 1 through 5, which are considered as space permits. The application packet includes detailed information about requirements for testing, recommendations, transcripts and scheduling a visit.

The form should be completed between December 1 and returned to Kent Place by February 1. Complete the Transcript Release Form and give it to the child’s current school after the 1 st marking period.
