 | Q. | What grade levels have openings? | | A. | Kent Place’s entry points are Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 6 and Grade 9. Kent Place also considers applications for other grade levels as space permits. |
 | Q. | What are your deadlines? | | A. |
- January 6, 2012 is the deadline for receipt of the Application for Admission.
- February 1, 2012 is the deadline for receipt of all supporting documents.
- February 1, 2012 is the deadline for completion of all student and parent visits.

 | Q. | When will I be notified? | | A. | Kent Place notifies families of admission decisions in late February/early March. |
 | Q. | What is the age cut-off for Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten? | | A. | By September 1 of the year that a child will begin attending, a Nursery applicant must be 3 years old, a Pre-Kindergarten applicant must be 4 years old, and a Kindergarten applicant must be 5 years old. |
 | Q. | What tests/entrance examinations are required? | | A. |
- Applicants for Nursery/Pre-K are screened on the day of their visit.
- Applicants for Kindergarten should arrange for an individual screening by calling the Kent Place Primary School Admission Office at (908) 273-0900, ext. 269.
- Applicants for Grades 1 and 2 are screened on the day of their visit.
- Applicants for Grades 3 through 5 should arrange for admission testing administered at Kent Place in January.

 | Q. | How do I arrange a visit to KPS? Do you have open houses? | | A. | There are many opportunities to visit the Kent Place School campus. We schedule a number of open houses and information sessions throughout the year, which allow prospective families to learn more about our school and tour the campus. As part of the application process, we arrange a campus visit for every applicant and parent. After submitting the Application for Admission, please call the Admission Office to schedule your visit. |
 | Q. | What if my child is placed in the wait pool? | | A. | Because a high percentage of accepted students enroll in our school, some qualified applicants are placed in our wait pool. The students are not ranked; the group is reconsidered if a spot becomes available. It is important to indicate that you wish to keep your child in the wait pool by sending in the card you will receive with your decision letter. If a student is placed in the wait pool and is not accepted by the start of school in September, he or she must reapply for the following school year. Contact the Admission Office to reapply. |
